Bar none, this is a premise with a view
Here's a puzzle for you. A new bar boasting the best jaw-dropping views of Sydney Harbour has literally just popped up - but it's not in the Rocks, it's not in Circular Quay and it's not in North Sydney, So where is it?
The Premise is a new bar full of 'only's: it's only accessible by boat, the only bar of it's kind and it's only around for a few weeks.
That's right - only accessible by boat. It's literally a floating barge that's moored in the middle of Sydney Harbour, right near Mrs Macquarie's Chair. All you have to do is catch a complimentary water taxi from the Man O War steps behind the Opera House and five minutes later, you've landed quite literally on The Premise's doorstep and are taking in the Sydney skyline, Drambuie drink on hand.
Liquer brand Drambuie actually held a competition to design and decorate the barge and turn it into one of Sydney's hottest pop-up bars. Matilda Swan and Simon Connet were crowned winners of the challenge and hence their apothecary-style bar was born. Once you've stepped on board, you'll find dark wood tables, leather bound club chairs, customised medicine drawers and recycled chemist bottles.
So, who's ready for a drink? The sun is shining, the water is calling and The Premise is pouring (cocktails that is). The Premise is open Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays, but only until October 22. All aboard!
